Welcome to the Sixth Annual KohOscars. I started these awards with a small group of friends to give famous people in Hollywood with a meta-physical award online that will mean absolutely nothing to them, and they may never know they won it. But it’s really fun for us. Since these awards started, our nominating body changed a lot this year. I must give a huge thank you to this year’s committee for agreeing that there were enough movies released this year to do these and for their help making this happen. Those members are Caleb Boatman, Tim Brzakala, Cameron Holzmann, Paul Oyama, & Adelaide Spence. Thank you again. This year was really weird and very difficult for everyone, but movies were something that we had that we could share with each other, even from miles away. We kept our eligibility rules pretty simple: if it was a film released in 2020, it counts. Hamilton & Small Axe were deemed eligible. If you look at this list and wonder where films such as Judas and the Black Messiah & The United States vs Billie Holliday are, they are 2021 films and counted towards next year’s awards.
