The Third Annual KohOscars (Best of 2017)

2017 was the final year before the ceremony moved to its current home at Multiplex Entertainment. Most notably, this ceremony introduced the award for Best Remake/Reboot. It is also the only ceremony where an eleventh film received a nomination for Best Picture. The Shape of Water led the way with eleven nominations, while Baby Driver would take home the most wins with seven. Greta Gerwig became the first woman to be nominated for Best Director for her work on Lady Bird. Timothee Chalamet would set the record as the youngest nominee in the history of the Best Actor category at 22 years and 27 days old for his performance in Call Me by Your Name. Kumail Nanjiani is the first actor of Pakistani descent to be nominated for Best Actor. Patrick Stewart became the oldest nominee in the history of the Best Supporting Actor category at 77 years old, nominated for his work on Logan. Dafne Keen, also nominated for Logan, set the record for the youngest nominee in the Best Supporting Actress category at 12 years old. Keen is also the first Hispanic actress nominated in the category. Hong Chau became the first Asian woman nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her work on Downsizing, while Ana De Armas became the first Latina actress nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in Blade Runner 2049.
